4th of July
This year was the first time we celebrated the 4th of July without any family or friends around so we kept it pretty simple. Hector asked me what I wanted to do and I responded with the typical 34 week pregnant lady answer - swimming, relaxing, and good food. We spent the morning prepping for our feast than hit the pool for 3+ hours and it was great! Hector usually gets restless after an hour at the pool so for him to stay that long was nothing short of a miracle. After the pool we headed home and put the steaks on the grill and finished prepping everything else. Once it was dark outside, we set up our lawn chairs in the front yard and watched all of the firework shows going on while eating the most delicious peach crisp ever (recipe here) and listening to patriotic tunes. It was the perfect day to celebrate this great nation that we live in. Happy (belated) Independence Day - let freedom ring!

34 Weeks
So long are the nights of comfortable, uninterrupted sleep. Instead they've been replaced with sleepless nights of tossing and turning and frequent bathroom trips. My energy levels have gone way down and I feel like I'm a million degrees all of the time. To combat this, I spend as much time at the pool as possible and had my first prenatal massage this past Saturday. Not sure why I waited so long to get a massage! It was the most relaxing, blissful hour of my pregnancy thus far.
I had a bit of a scare last night when I went to the bathroom and noticed some spotting. I called the on call physician at my doctor's office and was told to monitor the spotting and drink something sugary and count baby girl's kicks for an hour and then call back and report. After a blessing from Hector and one Coke later, I called the doctor back and told her baby girl kicked 16 times in 1 hour and that the spotting was very minimal. She told me everything should be fine as long as there isn't an increase in my spotting and I don't have any labor pains. Luckily I have my 34 week check-up tomorrow and confirm with my doctor that everything is ok.
Hector has been so sweet and supportive of me during this whole pregnancy journey and that has been a huge help. Every morning before he leaves the house for work he kisses my belly and tells baby girl how much he loves her. I can't wait to see Hector hold her for the first time - he's been waiting to become a daddy for a long time and it will be such a precious moment.

Benson
Benson came out to Utah a couple of weeks ago to stay with us and we had so much fun with him! We spent two full days at Seven Peaks and Hector and Benson did every waterslide at least twice while I played in the wave pool and floated around the lazy river. We spent countless hours driving go-karts, playing mini golf, laser tag, and arcade games at Boondocks and All Star Entertainment. We went out to eat at some of our favorite restaurants and treated ourselves to dessert almost every night. It was a great week even though the weather didn't quite cooperate and we are already looking forward to Benson's next visit. I may or may not have cried when he left - I'm blaming it on the pregnancy hormones. Come back soon Boots, we miss you already!

32 Weeks
On Monday I hit 32 weeks and realized Hector and I are getting down to crunch time before baby girl arrives. I had a check-up yesterday and my doctor confirmed that baby girl is head down and right on track with growth and weighs approximately 4 lbs. She is super active and loves to stick her feet into my ribs.
We are still no where close to agreeing on a name for baby girl. Hopefully once we meet her a name will just fit, but I feel like it will be a miracle if we leave the hospital with a name picked out for her.
Besides the nightly bathroom trip, I haven't had much trouble sleeping as long as I have my trusty body pillow. Poor Hector is cold every night so he sleeps with a comforter and I sleep with a light sheet and ice pack.
My weekdays are spent sitting on a giant exercise ball at my work desk and my weekends are spent tanning the baby bump and feeling weightless at the local pool or hanging out in the refrigerated produce section at Costco. I have a feeling swimming, Diet Dirty Cokes, and air conditioning will be my saving grace this summer.
It's crazy to think I only have 8 weeks left of this crazy pregnancy journey, but at the same time 8 weeks feels like an eternity. I still need to decorate the nursery, wash/organize all of baby girl's clothes, preregister at the hospital, and buy a few more items, but overall I feel pretty prepared (as prepared as I can be) for baby girl's arrival!

Maternity Pictures
My favorite gal Ali over at Alison Lalor Photography took these sweet maternity pictures for me a few weeks ago and I will treasure them forever! We are so anxious to meet our little one and become a family of three.
Pretty in Pink
My sweet sisters hosted a baby shower for me a few weeks ago and it was a huge success! All of the decorations were adorable and the food was delicious! I am so grateful to have such wonderful, supportive sisters! Baby girl made out like a bandit and got all sorts of awesome gifts.
For one of the games we played at the shower, Ali interviewed me and Hector and asked us a bunch of questions, and the guests had to guess which answers belonged to who.
What are you most looking forward to when the baby is born...
Hector - daddy daughter time/dates
Kelli - meeting her for the first time and seeing what she looks like
A placenta is...
Hector - the fluid that gets released at birth. I also believe it serves as a protective layer to the baby
Kelli - the gross looking thing that nourishes the baby during the pregnancy
How many diapers do you think you will change every day...
Hector - 3
Kelli - 6
How long will you wait until you have another baby...
Hector - 2 years
Kelli - 2 years
What do you do with a boppy...
Hector - you put it in a girl's hair
Kelli - it's some sort of pillow you use with the baby
Do you know how an epidural works...
Hector - when a woman is giving birth and she is the proper centimeters apart she can ask the Dr. for an epidural to relieve the pain. It is an injection placed in the lower back with a great big needle.
Kelli - the Dr. gives you a shot in the back with a massive needle to help with the pain
What do you hope your baby gets from your significant other...
Hector - I hope she gets Kelli's blue eyes
Kelli - I hope she gets Hector's dark features
The thing you are least happy about giving up as a new parent...
Hector - sleep
Kelli - sleep
The baby milestone you are most looking forward to...
Hector - hearing baby laugh for the first time
Kelli - 1st birthday - it means we survived the first year
If I were naming my baby a crazy celebrity name, it would be...
Hector - Sharkeisha
Kelli - Kitty Purry Marquez

The Announcement
The week of the ultrasound we sent this cute card out to family members and everyone sent us their guesses - everyone thought (knew) we were having a girl!
My sweet sister Ali took this photo for me for our pregnancy announcement for friends, work, social media, etc.
Over the Past 30 Weeks...
I've been making a sweet baby girl in my ever growing belly. We started trying to get pregnant in September and found out we were expecting on December 9th! We had our first doctor's appointment/ultrasound on January 9th and the doctor confirmed I was 8 weeks along. Being able to see the baby during the ultrasound and hear the heartbeat for the first time was an amazing experience.
We announced to my family on Christmas Eve that we were expecting, but decided not to tell anyone else until we knew the baby's gender - it killed me to be quiet for so long and proved to be a little difficult to hide the baby bump at work!
On April 1st, we had our 20 week check up/ultrasound and found out we were having a healthy little GIRL! I was convinced that we were having a boy, but Hector and my family all thought we were having a girl - so much for mother's instinct - maybe that will kick in once the sweet babe is born!
The week leading up to the ultrasound, I thought I might be feeling the baby kick, but wasn't sure. On the day of the ultrasound, Hector and I both felt her kick and fell in love with our sweet little girl!
On April 30th, Hector's birthday nonetheless, baby girl's kicks were hard enough we could see my belly move - so adorable!
Since then, my belly's just been growing and we've been busy preparing for the arrival of baby girl. Only 68 days left until my due date...although I have a feeling she'll be a week late!
A few "fun" facts about my pregnancy thus far:
Baby girl does not like Buffalo Wild Wings - I've thrown it up every time I've eaten it while being pregnant - even past the first trimester.
My morning sickness only lasted from week 6 to week 12 and it would hit me almost every night around 1am - I felt like I was going to die - luckily it didn't last too long.
I crave pizza and frozen yogurt on a weekly basis. Pretty sure the majority of our date nights consist of Caprese Salad and Margherita Pizza from Pizzeria Limone and then frozen yogurt topped with fruit, gummy bears, and boba from U-Swirl. To say Hector is sick of pizza and frozen yogurt is an understatement.
I threw up at the Dr. office after having my blood drawn for the glucose test - me and needles do not get along.
Hector and I cannot agree on a single name for baby girl.
To celebrate the start of each new trimester, we've gone out to sushi at Tsunami (don't worry I get veggie rolls). Pretty sure this is the first meal I will be requesting after the babe is born.
Overall, I've had a love/hate relationship with pregnancy. I hated the exhaustion and morning sickness the first trimester brought, and there's certainly been some tears shed over my changing body, but I've love hearing baby girl's heartbeat at every Dr. appointment and feeling her kicks/hiccups. Hector and I are just so grateful for this opportunity we have to become parents.

Moving Day
With the excitement of buying a new home comes the dreaded task of packing up your belongings and moving. Luckily we had family available to help out with the move on our big day (big shout out to Michael and Scott - we couldn't of done it without you two). As we were packing up our belongings and loading up the U-Haul, Hector and I were amazed at the amount "junk" we'd managed to accumulate over the past few years. Needless to say, I started throwing stuff out left and right towards the end since I was so sick of packing. Once moved into our house, we spent the weekend deep cleaning, unpacking boxes, and organizing cupboards and closets. Cheers to homeownership - we are Draper's newest residents and have no intentions of moving again anytime soon!
