Hawaii - Day One

Day One - Diamond Head Trail, Sans Souci Beach, and Waikiki

Hector and I started our first morning in Hawaii by hiking up Diamond Head. It was a fairly easy hike with beautiful views of Honolulu, and the surrounding beaches and mountains. After the hike, we stopped by a stand on the side of the road and treated ourselves to fresh guava smoothies and shaved ice. Hector somehow managed to dump his entire shaved ice onto the top of the rental car - he blamed it on the wind...good one babe!

Our next stop was Sans Souci Beach. Sans Souci Beach is part of Waikiki beach, but way less crowded. We had fun playing in the waves and soaking up the sun. It wasn't our favorite beach, but we wanted to experience Waikiki for one day before going off of the charts entirely.

That night we toured Waikiki, or should I say Las Vegas. We were surrounded by tourists, expensive shops and restaurants - my personal favorite was the life sized teddy bear museum...

We had a great first day in Hawaii, but were anxious to leave the tourist traps behind and truly experience Oahu in all of its glory!
