4th of July

This year was the first time we celebrated the 4th of July without any family or friends around so we kept it pretty simple. Hector asked me what I wanted to do and I responded with the typical 34 week pregnant lady answer - swimming, relaxing, and good food. We spent the morning prepping for our feast than hit the pool for 3+ hours and it was great! Hector usually gets restless after an hour at the pool so for him to stay that long was nothing short of a miracle. After the pool we headed home and put the steaks on the grill and finished prepping everything else. Once it was dark outside, we set up our lawn chairs in the front yard and watched all of the firework shows going on while eating the most delicious peach crisp ever (recipe here) and listening to patriotic tunes. It was the perfect day to celebrate this great nation that we live in. Happy (belated) Independence Day - let freedom ring!

Sounds like a perfect day, minus the fact that I wasn't there ;)
