Thanksgiving Weekend

This year we celebrated Thanksgiving in style with the Lalor family - and by style I mean wearing the same outfit for four days in a row since we had only planned to stay one night, but one night turned into four nights since we were having way too much fun to leave!

Ali and I stayed up late the night before Thanksgiving playing Martha Stewart. We made wreaths, snow globes, and glitter art and everything turned out as hoped...as long as you don't look too closely. This is a huge deal for me since most of my craft projects turn into failures or I quit half way through (story of my life). Piano lessons - quit. French horn lessons - quit. Gymnastics - quit, etc...

I was in charge of the dessert for Thanksgiving and made pumpkin and pecan pie, along with raspberry bread pudding. Sadly, the pumpkin pie went first and I only got to have one slice. Would it be wrong to make another pumpkin pie tonight and have it for dinner and save the leftovers for breakfast?

Before stuffing our faces with the wonderful feast Ali and Scott had prepared, we each went around the table and said what we were thankful for. Hector decided to be funny and made a false announcement that we were expecting and said he was thankful for the opportunity to be a father. What a dork, at least I know what he wants for Christmas...

That night, Ali and I decided to join the masses and participate in Black Friday. Luckily, Walmart opened its doors at 8pm, so we didn't have to stay up too late (that was a joke). At the end of the night, we each walked away with some DVDs and kitchen stuff. Yes, kitchen stuff, oh the things that excite you once you're married!

We had a great Thanksgiving weekend and are so grateful for all of our blessings, but especially our jobs, a cozy apartment, reliable cars, and the knowledge that families can be together forever.
